While I don't necessarily enjoy the state of being unemployed, there is a certain satisfaction with getting money from a program that I have been paying into since I was 16. (i.e. Unemployment)
I'm pleased to have several leads moving forward. The trick is to get them to run at the same pace so I can make the best decision in the end. Too bad not everyone has my priorities. :) I'm going to avoid names and places to protect the, well, my prospects - wouldn't want to spoil the surprise!
But some basic choices I'm working through are:
1) Should I stay at HP?
2) Should I stick to marketing for tech?
3) Should I stay B2B?
4) Should I contract for a while and decide again later?
5) Should I NaNoWriMo?
I'm a bit sour on HP as many would be in my position, but like I said in my goodbye letter, while many say HP has "lost its soul", there are plenty of great people working hard at the ground level that I'd be happy to stand with. And HP has great customers. I've no intention of shutting that door, but I'm not desperate to stay either.
To tech or not to tech, I don't know how picky I can be this merry-job-go-around.
I do have a contractor opportunity on the table for a healthcare company. New industry for me, 6 month commitment, 100% telecommute, might be a good interim adventure.
And heck, everyone should write a book some time in their life. Maybe the universe wanted me to exit HP in time for NaNoWriMo?
I suppose other options include being a bum, a domestic goddess or a professional crafter who makes cool things and upcycles stuff and sells it on Etsy.
Decisions, decisions...
